- Black Pacu: A pacu’s entire life is characterized by annual cycles corresponding to the rainy and dry seasons. They migrate upstream during the months of June to October and then, in response to the first rains of the wet season, start to spawn from November to February. When they’re injured, a chemical is released into the water from the wound warning other Pacu to possible danger.
- Common Clownfish: Clownfish live within the tentacles of a variety of venomous anemones – and have a productive relationship with it. Their bodies are covered with mucous which protects them from the venom and means they can hide from predators within it. In return, the clownfish remove parasites from the anemone and chase away any species that may try to eat it. Some clownfish are orange and white, but others are black and white.
