The mansion has been lovingly restored to match the fashions and preferences of the late Georgian era. There is also the opportunity to examine some of the products of Boulton’s neighbouring business, where he created the steam engine in collaboration with James Watt, and where he made buttons and buckles, clocks and vases, silver and Sheffield plate tableware, and silver and Sheffield plate tableware. Soho House was also a local favorite for the Lunar Society, a famous Enlightenment institution. Every month, on the night of the full moon, the Lunar Society would dine, perform experiments, and debate philosophical issues of the day.
