A Licence to Thrill – SEALIFE

Octopussy, the resident octopus at SEALIFE Weymouth, is the ultimate Bond fan.

Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park has posted footage of its in-house Octopus viewing the No Time To Die teaser in awe, with the newest instalment of the Bond franchise scheduled to enter theatres 30th September.

Gamora, the Octopus, is recognised at the core for becoming the ultimate Bond fan, to the point that SEA LIFE workers now refer to her as ‘Octopussy,’ after the Bond lady previously played by Maud Adams.

Gamora, a.k.a. Octopussy, is such a 007 fan that the Animal Care Team has put imitation 007 items in her tank, so she can be seen playing with the classic Bond vehicle, Aston Martin, and a martini glass — shaken, not stirred, of course.

Due to a shortage of visitors, the Marine LIFE crew sought to keep the sea animals engaged with music and television, which led to an infatuation with the espionage series. When the James Bond theme song came on, ‘Octopussy’ would swim close to the tank’s glass and watch the action unfold.

Octopuses are considered to be extremely intelligent creatures with a number of amazing abilities, including the ability to squeeze through tiny cracks and crevices and changing the skin colour to blend in perfectly with their environment – making them an ultimate secret agent!

So it’s no wonder that ‘Octopussy’ was drawn to James Bond, the suave and clever spy, since she’d make the perfect Bond lady.
